Role:Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Salary: Negotiable + Overtime & Weekend Rate

Hours: Monday - Friday 7am-3pm + 1 in 5 Weekends

Tailor Made are working exclusively with a well-established national engineering firm, seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established food manufacturing company in the Trafford area.

Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing reactive support as well as planned maintenance activities and assist with electrical isolations. The standard working hours are 7am -3pm Monday to Friday with an on-call rota providing cover during the week (11am- 7pm) and weekends (7am to 3pm).

The Role

Communicate with the Team Leader escalating any problems or issues related to production and engineering

Assist other skilled trades in carrying out maintenance, repairs, testing, inspection and installation work

Electrical isolations when required in conjunction with Team Leader

Able to carry out planned and corrective... maintenance works unsupervised

Able to produce accurate reports on works carried out

Able to carry out testing/rewiring/installation works to 18th Edition IEE Regs

Able to use diagnostic equipment and work from technical manuals and drawings

Able to monitor and record plant performance

Accurate recording and reporting of maintenance activity to ensure database is correctly updated

Working as directed to ensure timely completion of PPM's and reactive work to SLA

Identifying faults and accurately diagnosing root cause

Monitoring and maintaining equipment performance to ensure correct operation of the critical services of the sites

Competent in operation of building services plant and equipment, these will include Wastewater Treatment Plant/Air compressors/AHUs

Controls systems

Ensuring best practice is followed by the team

Provide hands on support for shift teams

To actively and analytically fault find

Operate in line with all Musk SHEQ standards and procedures

To assist in setting of machines in conjunction with the operations team

Ordering and maintaining stock levels

About You

NVQ level 3 / a recognised apprenticeship in Engineering or 17th Edition as a minimum

Experience working on Water Treatment, Boilers, HVAC systems

Essentially, even though this is not full-on electrical work, they do need to be qualified so C&G /NVQ apprenticeship ideally, 18th edition etc

Ability and competency to work on mechanical equipment

Commitment to safe working practices

Ability to read electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings

Experience with digital maintenance planning software

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with personnel at all levels

Excellent time management with the added need for flexibility as and when required to meet business needs

Experience in wastewater plants

C&G 2391 or equivalent desirable
