We are looking for someone with fruit or vegetable experience to drive food safety and quality compliance within our produce and processed ingredient categories.

We are looking for an experienced and energetic Food Safety and quality professional to join the international team for maternity leave cover. The role is critical in driving standards and food safety thinking through the HelloFresh system- being accountable for a section of the supply chain from supplier to product management to ensure our customers receive top quality ingredients.

Working collaboratively with our international procurement, culinary development and country FSQA teams, the role will share best practice, create standardized ways of working, develop thinking regarding supplier management, and support in various strategic projects – delivering on the Food Safety ... Quality Assurance vision.

What you’ll do
• You will be working cross functionally with International Procurement and local QA teams to manage the strategic direction of the HelloFresh produce and processed category.
• You will be accountable for the category implementation of the international Food Safety and Quality Assurance strategy.
• Build strong and collaborative relationships with our key suppliers to drive the HelloFresh Food Safety & Quality Assurance strategy within our supply chain.
• Monitoring all quality and compliance data for trends, focusing on themes covering multiple countries, identifying opportunities and developing solutions
• Collaborate with the Operations team to deliver on key performance metrics
• You will build strong relationship with internal stakeholders to drive the food safety and quality agenda within our local teams
• Evaluate key risks and establish proactive methodologies for mitigation
• You will be responsible for the management and development of 3 direct reports within the team.
• Coach and train the team across markets according to business requirements
• Role-model our HelloFresh values and the Food Safety & QA vision
• Create templates and procedures to support standardized implementation of central policy.

What you’ll bring
• Food sciences/ nutrition or similar scientific degree
• You have minimum 7 years’ experience in a food safety or quality role
• Experience working within the fruits or vegetables sector with a good understanding of produce production, quality and supply chain
• You have in depth knowledge of food safety systems and HACCP
• You have experience influencing the implementation of quality specifications within the supply chain to ensure requirements are achieved consistently.
• Experience managing and developing a team
• You have experience of actioning improvement plans with suppliers to achieve positive results.
• Experience leading supplier food safety and quality visits or audits
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Energy, enthusiasm, commitment and a can-do flexible attitude
• Embraces change, challenge and working in an autonomous way
• High level of analytical skills
• Very good MS Office knowledge (Excel, Powerpoint)
• You are a self-starter who is keen to develop your knowledge and skills
• Excellent spoken and written English is required
• This role is ideally based in the Berlin office but can also be based from London
