Description

Looking for a talented individual to join our Pixel Optics team. This position is for a fast-learning, highly motivated individual who enjoys creative but detail-oriented work and works well with a variety of people across the imaging and manufacturing organizations. As a Pixel Optics Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and running optical simulations to support semiconductor process and device design for rapid development and assessment of new pixel and image sensor related technologies.

Performance Objectives:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
• Develop and run semiconductor device and process optical simulations for pixel related technologies and recommend design and layout of new image sensor pixels.
• Work closely with TCAD (Technology Computer Aided Design), pixel, process, characterization, and foundry engineers to define and develop new process flows to support image sensor technology at onsemi.
• Summarize data concisely... communicate results effectively and maintain a database of simulations, models and results.
• Use Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize and screen new process.
• Use 8D or other problem solving techniques to overcome process challenges.
• Introduce new ideas, contribute to technology innovations, and expand extensive patent portfolio.

Qualifications
• MS or PhD in Physics or Engineering.
• Strong understanding of solid-state device physics and of optics.
• Ability to program in Python and/or Matlab.
• Experience in FDTD (finite-difference-time-domain) simulations is a plus.
• Knowledge of Lumerical and experience in raytracing optical simulations is a plus.
• Knowledge of JMP software is a plus.
• Knowledge of semiconductor process preferred.
• Strong program management skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to execute deliverables on schedule.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective communication to multiple teams across various time zones.
• Training period abroad, as well as traveling to collaborating sites may be required.
