We currently have an exciting opening for a full time Transport Planner to work at our Hawley Road Transport yard opposite the EcoPark Head Office in Edmonton.
LondonEnergy Ltd operates the second largest waste management company in the UK, handling and processing nearly 750,000 tonnes of London’s waste every year. Purpose of the role:
As a Transport Planner, you will plan and allocate vehicles and drivers each day to service the Waste Transfer Stations. You will work alongside the Transport Supervisors to ensure all vehicles are road legal and available for maintenance in accordance to the legal requirements of the operator’s licence. You will manage the D365 and winweigh systems and monitor tonnages being run from each RRC and waste transfer station throughout each day, working with the weighbridge and IT department to rectify any... issues and system faults, should they be found.
Responsibilities:
• To manually enter each job onto the D365 system for the following day, then managed throughout the day. Amending work and transfer orders as required due to waste type, driver, vehicle or destination changes.
• Complete daily system arbitration including, but not limited to removing scheduled loads not run from the previous day.
• Taking calls from the RRC’s with bin requests and allocate jobs to hook lift drivers. Planning these loads so they are allocated to the vehicle and driver in good time.
• Monitoring winweigh for any issues and ensuring we are on track with required tonnages for each waste transfer site at various times throughout the day.
• Be the first point of contact for all drivers for job allocations, 365 issues and tablet issues.
• Set up transfer route plans as per the production plan for the following week and release the plans each week ready to be populated.
• Assist weighbridge clerks with investigating any system errors and testing.
• Cover for the Transport Supervisor in their absence.
• Manage the vehicle telematics systems, ensuring they are connected and reported correctly and assist the Transport Managers with any data requirements and helping them to identify trends within vehicle and driver behaviour.
• Assist the Transport Managers with vehicle and driver tachograph systems, ensuring the automatic downloading system is working correctly at all times and working with system providers to rectify issue should they occur.
• Assisting the Transport Supervisor and Transport Manager in ensuring vehicles remain legally compliant at all times, ensuring the correct vehicles are made available for maintenance as per agreed maintenance schedule.
• Assist with signing in and out visitors and contractors to site, ensuring contractors are inducted, keeping contractors inline ensuring they are wearing correct PPE at all times and following site rules.
• Ensuring sufficient PPE stocks for drivers and leasing with stores for re-stocking and collection
Requirements
• IT literate and proficient with Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong communication with a confident and articulate telephone manner and customer service skills.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Has worked in the transport industry previously and has strong transport planning experience would be advantageous.
• Has an understanding of transport compliance requirements would be desirable.
• A positive attitude.
• To work as part of a team.
• The ability to adapt and work effectively within a variety of situations, and with various individuals and groups.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, able to deal with people at all levels of the company and outside of the organisation.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of Dynamics365 would be desirable.
• Knowledge of Fleet board and Dynafleet telematics would be desirable.
• Understanding of the Fleet Operators Recognition Scheme (FORS) would be desirable.
