WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

APLA (Asia-Pacific Latin-America) is a multi-cultural, growth geography that is looking for a WCS (Warehouse Control System) expert who will support our business partners to achieve their goals, by developing world-class technology solutions, which is serving our consumers via the distribution centers of our logistics campus and J30 Program in Japan. You will lead to create the technologies design to support warehouse automation processes within the new Nike Japan DC (Distribution Center) from early design stages through implementation.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

As a Japan territory tech expert of WCS, you will participate in WCS process flows discussions to understand technical requirements. Participate in system integration workshops designing integrations and coordinate vendor management activities during solution design, development, and delivery of WCS warehousing automation capabilities.

During the project period, you will drive the WCS-related process requirement, changes, enhancements, and questions regarding the "as is" & "to be" WCS functionality, by writing functionality tech requirements (high-level interface & messaging definition, functional specifications, etc.), reviewing of interface, functional and test specifications provided by the WCS vendors and internal/external WMS (Warehouse Management System) teams.

You will collaborate with the global or regional Nike Technology team to transfer local requirements, lead WCS BSA (Business System Analyst), and manage the local MHE (Material Handling Equipment) vendors to deliver the solution during the project and support innovation, change requests, etc. after the project goes live.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

In this role, you will be a member of the Japan Technology Team within the APLA Technology region. Directly reporting to the technology director and dotted line reporting to the J30 technology lead during the project. You will interact closely with the J30 Project team, operations, and logistics business partners squads within Nike as well as with the APLA Node Technical Product Management, Architecture, Program Management, and other Technology teams to carry out Nike's APLA operations and logistics roadmap and work closely with the external WCS vendors to lead all aspects of the combined efforts from a build and operate capabilities perspective for the appropriate state of the art WCS & product flow related automation solutions.

WHAT YOU BRING
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) or Warehouse Execution Systems (WES) as well as working experience in a highly automated distribution environment are a must. (5+ years' experience)
• Experience with intralogistics process automation solutions provided by the main world-leading material handling system suppliers is a plus. Ability to anticipate customers' & stakeholders' needs can speak yo when needed
• Strong analytical behavior, working independently, flexible, and stress resistant. Strong stakeholder & vendor management
• Operational processes within a distribution center are not new to you and can easily be explained in a functional and technical way. A backpack of technical skillsets is a plus
• You will be able to simultaneously drive and step into several cross-functional & cross-business-unit automated material handling projects. You have a high level of ownership and a professional sense of responsibility. Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment. You will engage yourself as a mentor towards less experienced junior and intermediate WCS BSA
• Business-level skills in English and Japanese, both spoken and written
