Registered Nurse - Clinical Coach for Nurse Entry to Practice (NETP) Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Whatu Ora - Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District Location:
Based at Hutt Valley Hospital Working across the District Hospital Services, Aged/ Residential Care settings Service:
Workforce and Practice Development Unit Contract:
Fixed term until 5th May 2024.
Four days per week, AM or PM shifts as negotiated with Nurse Director Workforce Development Salary:
RN scale steps 5 - 7 pro rata as per NZNO Meca The clinical coach works closely with both the Nurse Coordinator NETP and Nurse Coordinator NETP and Cultural Support roles contributing to Graduates - clinical education and practice development.
The RN - Clinical Coach NETP role involves:
working clinically with nurses in the NETP programme across the DHB including primary health and Aged Residential Care settings networking with clinically based nurses, preceptors, educators and senior nurses in the graduates - clinical areas visibility in... the clinical environment and working alongside graduates clinical teaching/coaching skills to support clinical decision making in graduate - s practice Ensuring NETP nurses receive the assistance and support they need to keep their practise safe as they develop their clinical practice throughout the NETP programme Role modelling professional, educational and expert preceptorship behaviours when providing clinical teaching to support Graduates success.
The Workforce and Practice Development Unit (W&PDU) supports the Chief Nursing Officer, Nurse Directors, and Director of Midwifery across the District.
This support enables the alignment of the W&PDU - s professional, operational and strategic leadership accountabilities, within allocated resources to reflect national, regional and District priorities.
This is a highly motivated team that works closely to support each other.
The position would suit a highly motivated, organised and action-oriented person who is passionate about clinical education and supporting graduates in their first year of practice.
The preferred candidate will ensure the graduates - clinical education and practice development needs are met.
Previous experience as a preceptor, intravenous trainer and current on the PDRP are preferred requirements in this role.
