Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is a 60/40 joint venture partnership between Equinox Gold and Orion Mine Finance Group formed for the purpose of the joint ownership and development of the Greenstone Gold Property including the Greenstone Mine located on a historical mine site in the Geraldton-Beardmore Greenstone belt in Ontario. The Greenstone Mine is managed directly by a dynamic and experienced Owner’s team, with an estimated $1.5 Billion investment over the three-year construction and commissioning phase, and a 14-year operating life of mine.

Chief Mine Engineer

Greenstone Gold Mines is seeking a Chief Mine Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Operations Readiness Manager, the Chief Mine Engineer will be responsible and accountable for all technical aspects of the open pit mine and provide input into the design and development details from the early start-up, through ramp-up and into full scale operations. The Chief Mine Engineer will develop the necessary procedures and... practices to develop accurate mine development plans.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
• Lead the Mine Engineering team.
• Develop strategic mine plans, including 5-year and Life of Mine plans.
• Establish, execute and effectively monitor weekly and 3-month plans.
• Actively participate in weekly planning meetings.
• In consultation with the mine team, evaluate methods to optimize ore extraction and mining sequence and prepare trade-off analyses as required.
• Coordinate mine engineering work with geology, ground control and mine operations.
• Troubleshoot problems that arise; analyze and recommend solutions.
• Review and approve project technical documentation, including drawings and specifications.
• Contribute to the development of policies and procedures in engineering.
• Ensure compliance and ensure adherence to applicable engineering codes, regulations, safety and environmental practices, performance standards and specifications.
• Develop and manage annual budgets.
• Promote and maintain a safe workplace targeting zero harm and good environmental practices.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
• Strong analytical skills with a strong attention to detail coupled with a practical understanding of mine operations.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to create a positive work environment.
• Self-motivated and safety conscious.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstratable project management skills.
• Advanced knowledge/expertise in mine engineering principles and techniques.
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
• Degree in Mine Engineering with 10+ years of open-pit experience having worked as a production and planning engineer, including 3+ years experience at a senior level in the mine.
• Advanced knowledge of mining software packages.
• Experience in gold deposits is an asset
• Registered Professional Engineer of Ontario, or eligible to obtain.

LOCATION
• This position will be based at site in Geraldton, Ontario on a rotational basis.
