Our client is an established MNC in the packaging industry. They are currently in the process of setting up their pioneering facilities and are looking for highly capable individuals to take them to further heights.

Job Description
• Executing standards and procedures relating to plant operation
• Planning and coordinating production activities as well as the work of subordinates
• Managing inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands
• Recommending process improvements to enhance product quality and capacity
• Monitoring and implementing quality control programs
• Investigating production issues, waste and developing resolutions
• Scheduling equipment maintenance and inspection
• Production planning with a focus on forecasting of material requirements and manpower utilization
• Coordinate on production schedule & planning and to prepare & submit a monthly production report.
• To monitor overall quality and output of production, QC and... packing and ensuring customer requirements are met.
• To review production line cleaning, safety and preventive maintenance.
• To review and analyse machine reports.
• To constantly look into improving productivity and reducing rejects, waste and downtime.
• To review and update the quality system procedures and work instructions for the department.
• Prepare department budget for submission to Account Department.
• Ensure the department KPI and targets are achieved.
• To investigate and discuss internally on issues and lead on problem resolution
• To plan and approve duty roster for the department.
• Ensure sufficient resources (manpower) for the department to operate effectively and efficiently.
• Ensure compliance of work safety practice and enforcing company rules and regulations.
• To carry out other duties or tasks as assigned by superior from time to time.

The Successful Applicant
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Manufacturing).
• Minimum 8 years of working experience in manufacturing.
• Proficient in English and Malay. Chinese is a plus.
• Handling multiple production lines preferably for a medium to large-scale manufacturing organisation.
• Managing & conduction staff's performance / appraisal and coaching.
• Provide training, guidance and coaching to subordinates (if any) to ensure subordinates are well trained to carry out their functions effectively.
• Building cooperative working relationships inter-department.
• Any other tasks assigned by the Superior / management.
• Manufacturing technologies and processes and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Operational excellence principles and tools (e.g. Value streams or Lean Manufacturing).
• Problem solving and troubleshooting techniques.
• Time study and manpower utilisation calculation.
• Being able to establish strong relationships with other units or divisions and maintaining them over time.
• Led a team of production supervisors, operators, and technicians.
• Coached junior team members in delivering results.
