The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Alberta is a newly established department, and at this exciting time, we are seeking a Department Chair to join our team. Our department is at the forefront of one of the most rewarding areas of engineering, applying the theory and methods of engineering to medicine. The advances we make today will be seen in medicine tomorrow. The Department Chair is a key member of our team that will realize the next-step in our evolution to achieving our teaching and research goals. The department has research programs in biomaterials, magnetic resonance imaging, magnetic... resonance spectroscopy, and rehabilitation engineering, and values interdisciplinary approaches in our research. We work with departments in the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry, Engineering, Science, and Rehabilitation Medicine. The Department currently offers research opportunities and courses leading to MSc and PhD degrees, with plans for expanded course, program, and research offerings. More information is available at
