Our client, a global leader in distribution of mobile digital products, is looking to hire a Senior Accountant on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting operation of the company, including daily reconciliations, inventory management and financial reports. The Senior Accountant will be reporting to the Controller of the organization and his/her duties will include, but will not be limited to:

Responsibilities
• Inventory management, inventory valuations, reviews and annual counts
• Collaborate with operations at the warehouse to secure accurate inventory accounting
• Maintain general ledger and prepare account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end activities, journal entries and resolve discrepancies and irregularities
• Prepare and file HST returns
• Serve as the main point of contact with external and internal auditors
• Prepare financial reports
• Analyze and explain monthly balance sheet and income statement fluctuations and... variances
• Improve internal controls and identify opportunities to improve financial and operational systems and cost effectiveness

Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree in accounting
• Pursuing CPA designation
• 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting from manufacturing industries
• Extensive experience in inventory management
• Strong financial analysis and preparation of financial statements
• Advanced Excel skills and familiar with VLOOKUPS and pivot tables
• Ability to meet tight and ongoing deadlines
• Above average communication and problem-solving skills
