Are you an experienced Marine Structural Engineer looking for an opportunity to join our Marine and Coastal group and showcase your technical skills and entrepreneurial spirit. In this role you will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of technically challenging projects and play a key role in the growth and development of Ausenco's Transportation & Logistics practice.
We are looking for professionals who are committed to delivering high-quality work to Ausenco's existing clients as well as pursuing new opportunities. To become a core member of our team, you will have a strong drive to offer your support and collaboration in working with multi-disciplinary teams towards the successful completion of assignments.
About the role:
• Perform/lead the marine engineering work for all design phases including concept, basic and detailed engineering for different types of projects (new, repair, expansion, inspection and maintenance, installation and construction, etc.)
• Work... well within a global engineering and drafting team and direct staff to produce the required technical deliverables and documents (drawings, specifications, reports, calculations, Material Take-Offs, etc.)
• Perform Engineer of Record duties as required
• Review technical work performed by other engineers and specialists
• Support other business units including Materials Handling, Simulations and others with their inquiries related to Ports and Marine design solutions.
• Manage/coordinate projects and assignments in accordance with Ausenco's project management systems and best practices in project management.
• Be able to client interface with an excellent grasp of marine structural engineering, including seismic and construction considerations.
• Support the ongoing advisory study work being undertaken.
• Oversee and guide junior engineers and co-op students.
• Prepare and/or support preparation of proposals and estimates for prospective assignments.
• Occasional travel may be required.
About You
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural engineering. A Master's degree would be considered an asset
• Ideally 5 to 12 years, relevant industry experience (near-shore and onshore)
• Hold a Professional Engineer designation - eligible to be registered with Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia or other provinces
• Experience in engineering and design of marine structures (concept, basic and detailed engineering scopes).
• Familiarity with structural modelling software, and proper understanding and use of applicable codes and standards.
• Experience in dealing with clients and contractors directly.
• Experience in guiding and mentoring junior structural engineers and leading project teams and work-groups.
• Experience in managing projects of various sizes, including multi-disciplinary projects
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong problem solving and organization skills
• Understanding of financial reports and project budgets and schedules would be an asset.
• Well-developed written and oral skills in English (French and/or Spanish is an asset) with experience in delivering high quality presentations and reports.
