The School and Role
A specialist SEND provision in Sunderland are looking to appoint a Learning Mentor to work directy with students ages 11-16 who have a diagnosis of Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). As an Learning Mentor, the sucssessful candidate will be working with students who may present difficult and challenging behaviours, and who may struggle to regulate their emotions. The role of an Learning Mentor also involves supporting the students develop their life skills, independence and social skills, as well as their academic studies.
The desired Learning Mentor will have;
Experience of working with secondary school aged children
Experience of working with pupils with SEMH
A passion for education and helping people
A nurturing and engaging personality
