AGA Health Foundation currently has an opportunity for suitable, qualified, and experienced professionals to join the organisation in the following key positions.
1. MIDWIFERY OFFICER
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• To assess, plan, implement and evaluate obstetric and gynaecological nursing care and contribute to the efficient management of the ward
• Ensure proper documentation of nursing activities
• Ensure high clinical standards are met in the provision of obstetric and gynaecological nursing care services in an appropriate and cost-effective manner
• Support the training of other nurses, student and rotational nurses
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers for optimum nursing care services in the facility
• Undertake and participate in Clinical Care Supervision
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge in the area of specialization through continuing professional development.
• Undertake any other nursing and administrative duties assigned by the Nursing Manageress (DDNS) and or... hospital management
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
• Must have a degree in Midwifery from a recognized and accredited training institution
• Must be a registered midwife
• Minimum of TWO (2) years of working experience post rotation or national service
• Member of and in good standing with the Ghana Registered Nurses Association
• Must have a Professional Identity Number (PIN)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Knowledge of GHS patient charter
• Knowledge and understanding of quality assurance issues
• Knowledge of GHS Clinical Protocols
• Knowledge of Basic Life Support
• Excellent corporate organizational behaviour
• Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to demonstrate and participate in effective teamwork
• Ability to relate to people from differing backgrounds
• Knowledgeable in computer applications and ability to use Electronic Medical Records System is an advantage
• Ability to manage under pressure
• Excellent decision-making skills with a focus on outcomes
• Commitment to quality patient care and professional attitude towards patients and staff
• Understanding of audit processes
2. NURSING OFFICER (CRITICAL CARE)
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• To provide professional critical nursing care to patients by contributing to the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care to improve health outcomes
• Assist in emergency response for the hospital
• Assist with manual handling and transferring of patients in compliance with the hospital policy
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic patient care environment at the ICU and evaluate responses to interventions and modify plans as needed.
• Maintain effective communication with colleagues, clients/patients and visitors in the ward/unit and advise on the promotion of health and prevention of illness, teaching patients and their relatives where appropriate
• Assist the Ward Manager/ Unit In-Charge in promoting the right of patients/clients and maintaining the privacy and dignity of clients/patients and staff
• Develop and maintain continuing personal and professional development to meet the changing demands in the area of critical nursing care.
• Perform other official duties assigned by the Ward Manager/Unit In-Charge and ultimately Nurse Manager
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION
• Must have a Degree in Critical Care Nursing
• Minimum of TWO (2) years working experience as a Critical Care Nurse post rotation or national service
• Member of Ghana Registered Nurses Association and in good standing
• Must have a Professional Identity Number (PIN)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Understand the workflow and management of an intensive care unit
• Demonstrate Basic Life Support skills
• Knowledge of the Patients Charter
• Ability to keep confidential information. eg. Patient Information
• Computer literate and knowledge of HAMS or other hospitals' e-management software is an advantage
• Good interpersonal relations
• Good verbal and written communication skills
3. NURSING OFFICER (EMERGENCY NURSING)
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• To assess, plan, implement and evaluate emergency and critical nursing care and contribute to the efficient management of the ward
• Ensure proper documentation of nursing activities
• Setting up of ICU and recovery wards
• Renders Post-Operative management for all categories of patients and conditions
• Planning of care and use of appropriate medical equipment and advanced procedures to nurse and treat the critically and or acutely ill
• Emergency response team training and set up.
• Any duties assigned
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION
• Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
• Must have a certificate in emergency nursing
• Must be a registered general nurse
• Member of Ghana Registered Nurses/Midwives Association
• Must have a valid Professional Identity Number (PIN)
• Minimum of TWO (2) years working experience as an emergency nurse post rotation or national service
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Good customer care
• Computer Literate
• Good verbal communication skills
• Self-Motivated
• Team Player
• Ability to keep confidential information. eg. Patient Information
• Ability of the usage of hospital software (HAMS)
• Knowledge of the Patients Charter
• Ability to manage under pressure
• Understanding of audit processes
• Knowledge of pain management
• Knowledge of Basic and Advance Life Support
4. STAFF MIDWIFE
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• To assess, plan, implement and evaluate obstetric and gynaecological nursing care and contribute to the efficient management of the ward
