In Volunteer Resources, our goal is to communicate and promote Alberta Health Services (AHS) as an organization of choice, develop strategic plans to build and sustain volunteer pipelines and to maximize the efficiency and productivity of our services, all in support of ongoing patient and family centered care objectives. The Coordinator is a unique position that provides the vision, direction and supervision for the volunteer supported retail operation the Sunroom Café as well as various a variety of additional volunteer programming at the Cross Cancer Institute. Working with a dynamic team of Volunteer Resources professionals, and reporting to the Manager, Volunteer Resources, this position is responsible for the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the operations in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. Primarily provides expertise in retail operations and volunteer management processes... Retail Management includes expertise in the finances of the ‘product buy’, product pricing, inventory management, store and product marketing and merchandizing. Volunteer management processes includes the administration of the overall volunteer engagement cycle and use of volunteer management software. Develops and maintains strong working relationships with key stakeholders and leaders within the retail markets and the Edmonton zone to ensure volunteer supported retail shop operations are fully leveraged to generate maximum profits. Ensures the profits from the retail operations are utilized to support patient and family care and comfort as per the Cross Cancer Institute Volunteer Association.

Required Qualifications:

A post-secondary degree in Volunteer Resources/Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or Management in Human and Social Services: or an equivalent of experience, education, and training may be considered. Supervisory experience is required. Personal volunteer experience is required. Food Service experience is required. Driver's License is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

VMPC membership and certification in Volunteer Administration (CVA) is preferred. Leadership experience of 3-5 years in a volunteer service environment with an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity is preferred (healthcare experience an asset).
