The Purpose of the Role:
This role is an exciting opportunity to work as part of an experienced IT Services team. The University is currently implementing a new robust, scalable enterprise Web Content Management System (WCMS). This role will provide product management, operational management and administration support for the web content management system and its users. The role holder will liaise and collaborate with other teams across IT Services, the CMS Vendor and hosting partners along with all areas across the University who are involved in and have related interests in the website.
Context
The Trinity website is the university’s strategic platform to promote Trinity to a global audience. Our web presence ( consists of over 350 microsites for academic and administrative areas and has over 430 web editors.
The IT Services Web team is responsible for the front-end design and development of the Trinity website ( along with other digital initiatives for mobile, social media and... video, utilizing and supporting the new WCMS as well as existing and relevant technologies. This role reports to the Head of Web Design and Development.
Main Responsibilities
Design and Development, Systems
• Acting as liaison and escalation point for T4 CMS technical queries between Trinity College Dublin and the CMS Vendor (Terminalfour)
• Monitoring CMS availability and alert management
• Performance monitoring, reporting and resource utilisation
• Administration and operational support tasks as required for the new CMS for user access management, website auditing and logs, synchronisation, web redirect management
• Responsible for monitoring and maintaining product and CMS environment security
• Triaging and routing queries appropriately
• Troubleshooting, coordinating fixes required and reporting of bugs
• Manage incidents, record and document issues and their resolution
• Co-ordinating communications for system alerts, updates and messages using various channels e.g. bulletin board, email etc.
• Liaising with appropriate academic and administrative areas and providing updates to end user on request status with information
• Co-ordinating and managing licencing, product updates and upgrades, and acceptance testing
• Identifying and suggesting possible improvements for the system and related processes
• Production and maintenance of system and user documentation as needed
• Identification and coordination of training needs
• Participating in change management process
• Coordinating and managing web development / integration requests
• Contribute to bug fixing, documentation, software maintenance and other development activities
• Co-ordinate and assist with website migrations as needed
• Any other related duties that may be assigned
General
• Participate in IT Services team and project meetings along with other activities, meetings and events as required.
• Deputise for colleagues as required and represent the manager or department at meetings and events.
• Assist in project management activities such as project planning, estimating, reporting and project metrics.
• Any other duties that arise from time to time as directed by the manager or nominee.

Relevant 3rd Level qualification and a minimum of 3 years recent and relevant work experience – essential

• An excellent understanding of enterprise CMS environments. Experience with T4 is highly desirable
• Good technical knowledge and understanding of CMS, PHP, AWS structure and hosting
• Good understanding and experience of website design and development
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues
• Experience of conducting enterprise systems upgrades
• Experience with user support
• Experience of working as part of a team and working towards team goals
• Experience of communicating and collaborating with end users and project stakeholders
• Experience of managing systems integrations
• Understanding of enterprise wide systems software release management processes
• Excellent communication skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and collaboration tools
Skills
• Knowledge of CMS infrastructure models
• Advanced knowledge of CMS and how websites are designed, configured and structured in a CMS
• Knowledge of content synchronisation and CMS integration
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively with a broad range of stakeholders across the University including third parties and our CMS partner
• Vendor management
• Ability to write clear and concise documentation to a high level of technical expertise
• Methodical, investigative and inquisitive mind and attention to detail
• Good understanding of current project management methodologies
• Demonstrated success in delivering system change under pressure with tight deadlines. Experience of structuring workload and timelines
• Ability to work on own initiative and to deadlines and solving issues proactively
• High standard of accuracy in both written and numerical work, paying close attention to quality standards

Post Summary - Content Management Systems Analyst
Post status: Permanent Contract
Hours of Post: 35 hours per week
Salary: This appointment will be made on the Administrative 2 Salary Scale (€54,096 - €63,562 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
