The Environmental Manager EMEA sits centrally and will work with a variety of stakeholders at all levels, both centrally and regionally, to develop, maintain and improve environmental management across our Global Data Center EMEA region. This role will define, implement and maintain frameworks to support and enhance our environmental strategy.
Your responsibilities
Provide direct leadership and oversight within the business to mitigate environmental regulatory and legal compliance risks
Lead, coach and functionally develop key stakeholders through structured, systematic and purposeful individual leadership and collaborative teamwork
Work closely alongside Global Data Center EMEA energy, sustainability, governance and health & safety counterparts to develop an integrated approach to environmental management where applicable
Ensure compliance with relevant environmental legislation frameworks across the EMEA region, both through establishing EMEA standards and by ensuring they are... implemented and applied by competent workforce
Lead discussions with Design & Engineering and Construction to ensure that environmental risks and opportunities play an integral role in design considerations for new projects and ensure that environmental management is correctly transitioned from a project’s construction phase to a live operational facility
Support the business and key stakeholders during environmental incidents and act as an escalation point and subject matter expert where necessary
Drive standardisation in our approach to continuously improve EMEA environmental performance
Develop and integrate a programme of audits to measure and report on compliance with environmental standards across EMEA
Implement objectives, KPIs and reporting formats so that the company has a comparable view of environmental compliance and performance across the business portfolio
Your profile
Several years of relevant environmental management experience within data center or large-scale critical infrastructure environments
A recognised environmental qualification (degree level or equivalent)
Experience and accredited to audit ISO 14001
Proven track record of managing environmental functions across multiple countries
Demonstrable ability to implement new frameworks, policies and procedures
Proven track record of managing and leading diverse multi country teams
Fluent in English and German, both written and orally would be preferable but is not essential
Demonstrable skills in leadership, management, and collaboration
Strategic thinking individual with a structured and target-oriented approach
Willing and able to travel within EMEA region
