Our client is a large Federal Government division, looking for an IT Systems Administrator with previous Government experience. The team is working on delivering, managing and supporting the platforms that provide electronic data exchange & integration services as the platforms are being uplifted and modernised to expand service offerings/capabilities. This is a lucrative contracting opportunity for a 12 month duration, with 3 x 12 month extensions! The ideal candidate is based in Melbourne or Canberra, and available to attend the office at least 3 days a week.

As the IT Systems Administrator you will work within an agile team environment playing a key role in the management of the infrastructure, deployment and configuration of applications in both Windows and Linux environments.

We are seeking hands-on, friendly, and passionate individuals that can deliver under pressure who have a strong background with applications in Windows and Linux environments, and working in a similar role... in Federal or State Government.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Cloud based infrastructure management (AWS).
• Application deployment and configuration (Windows and Linux).
• Maintenance of current infrastructure and applications.
• Environments monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Incident Management.
• Raising change requests for deployments in the PRE-PROD and PROD environments.
• Delivering under pressure and working in an agile environment.

Essential requirements for this role:
• Australian Citizenship
• Extensive experience in enterprise system management
• Experience in Windows Server Management, Windows AD & Group Policy
• Demonstrated experience in Linux Server Admin
• Demonstrated experience in network routing, switching & firewall management
• Experience interacting with development, testing and infrastructure teams
• Agile Experience

• PowerShell, Bash or CMD Batch scripting
