The Civil Engineer performs work developing plans and specifications for engineering projects. They will review and inspect construction, maintenance, and repair projects for infrastructure improvements.

Develops plans and specifications for infrastructure improvements
Prepares detailed engineering project specifications and cost estimates to be used by bidding contractors
Prepares engineering drawings, maps, and plans
Conducts engineering research projects such as traffic, lighting, water consumption, future paving, and sewer systems requirements
Recommends solutions to defective work, complaints, or changes in condition
Utilizes various software programs such as AutoCAD, MERL, Field Manager, and ArcMap
Reviews and inspects construction, maintenance, and repair projects to ensure conformity with plans and specifications using established civil engineering standards, practices, and principles
Reviews inspector daily reports (IDR) and verifies data for accuracy; prepares and submits pay estimates based on IDR information
Prepares cost estimates for future projects
Schedules, directs, and inspects the work of technicians concerning design and construction activities
Coordinates site plan reviews with various division staff and approves proposed infrastructure improvements
Coordinates new utility connections between appropriate divisions, contractors, and customers
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field
1+ years of experience in drafting, civil engineering, surveying, and construction inspections
