Position: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Woking, UK

Salary: Dependent on experience

Contract: Full-time, permanent

We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a SEN school in Guildford. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the teaching and learning of students with special educational needs, ensuring that they have access to the best possible education and reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

Providing one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs, both inside and outside of the classroom

Assisting with planning and delivering individual education plans (IEPs) and personal care plans

Monitoring and recording the progress of students, and providing feedback to teachers and parents/carers

Supporting students with social, emotional and behavioural... difficulties

Liaising with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, educational psychologists and occupational therapists

Assisting with the preparation and adaptation of resources and materials for students with special educational needs

Promoting a Safe And Inclusive Learning EnvironmentRequirements

Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs in an educational setting

Relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools)

Knowledge and understanding of special educational needs and the strategies used to support students

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

The ability to work effectively as part of a team

Patience, empathy and a positive attitude towards working with students with special educational needs
