General Sales Manager – Barrie, Ontario

Central Ontario Broadcasting has a rare opportunity for an experienced Sales Manager in Barrie, Ontario. We are an integrated media company providing a unique mix of traditional mass-media and targeted digital products.

You are a proven performer who is ready for a new challenge. You have the ability to develop sales strategies and motivate staff. You want to be heavily involved in the development of strategies to take a well-funded, established company into new and exciting directions.

Strategy Development

- Develop client-facing strategies to integrate online and traditional products

- Identify core customers, market segments and assist with product development

- Drive the growth of our full-service advertising agency

- Work with sales staff and other team members to develop complete marketing plans for our clients

Team Building & Leadership

You’ll build, motivate, and lead a high performing team of account executives to... over-achieve media and agency sales targets

- Train, coach and mentor members of the team

- Develop standards of performance

- Lead by example with a positive, friendly, and patient manner

- You employ ethical business practices


- Set goals and quarterly budgets for all members of your team

- Monitor your team’s performance with consistent positive reinforcement

- Ensure customer relationships are managed appropriately at the retail, agency and rep shop level.

- You’re a “hands-on” manager, and you support sales team by participating in prospective / client meetings

Skills and Experience

• Demonstrate comparable experience in local & national media, and digital and/or agency sales

• Knowledgeable about marketing, branding, and advertising

• Prior experience managing direct reports

• Excellent organizational skills

• Incredibly detail oriented

• Creativity, flexibility and the ability to multitask

• Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
