Reporting to the Vice President of Sales and Operations, the National Sales Manager is responsible for the leadership, performance, implementation, and management of the company’s Canadian Geosynthetics Sales division.
The National Sales Manager will oversee the customer experience team and work closely with Layfield Canada’s Regional Sales Managers, Account Managers, Inside Sales/Customer Experience Representatives and the Executive team to ensure the company’s sales targets and objectives are achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales:
• Develops and executes strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand customer base
• Tracks and monitors industry trends, economic indicators, competitors and supply and demand
• Build and maintain key customer relationships and develops strategies when needed
• Monitors sales and margins to plans and recommends corrective action.
• Conducts company wide sales training and recognition programs.
• Plans and conducts regional and national sales... meetings.
• Ensures appropriate sales and customer service staffing levels are maintained across all key areas.
• Develops the overall Customer Service strategy.
• Ensures appropriate Customer Service levels are maintained.
Marketing:
• Monitors pricing policies and recommends pricing strategies.
• Ensure proper adherence to CRM usage and marketing databases
• Aware of environmental implications, develops strategies for proper positioning.
• Conducts surveys to understand customer satisfaction and needs.
• Develops and manages national and international Trade Show strategy and schedule.
• Monitors sales and margins to plans and recommends corrective action.
Special Events and Projects:
• Manages participation in industry associations.
• Manages Company participation in special events.
• Develops strategy for corporate promotional activities.
• Initiates plans for major capital projects including budgets and cost / benefit analysis.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
• Ability to achieve desired results and outcomes by implementing the company’s strategy to drive sales.
• Tracks and understand trends and initiates appropriate programs.
• Ability to influence others internally and externally to attain goals and objectives.
• Possesses a high level of organizational and sales skills and in-depth product knowledge.
• Contributes as a team player and work closely with internal and external contacts to achieve desired outcomes.
• Always represents Layfield and its customers in a professional and ethical manner.
• High degree of competence in written and oral communication.
• Proven problem-solving abilities.
• Driven, self-starter with superb interpersonal skills.
Education & Experience:
• Completion of post-secondary education or civil engineering
• Minimum ten (10) years of senior sales experience
• Sales and management experience with a proven track record of success.
• Excellent knowledge of managing sales for industrial products, services, and systems.
• Experience developing and coaching subordinates to higher levels and achieving goals.
• Highly successful sales experience with national customers.
