The Victoria Television Group, a Morgan Murphy Media company, has an immediate opening for an innovative, audience-minded morning meteorologist/news anchor host at KAVU-TV.

You'll work with the Sunrise news team to produce compelling content on , our app, and social media platforms owned and operated by the Victoria Television Group. You'll join a close-knit news family in the Crossroads close... to Houston, Austin, San Antonio and Corpus Christi.

What you'll do:
• Create, develop, and manage weather content for KAVU-TV and Crossroads Today digital properties.
• Work with the Chief Meteorologist to formulate a plan that maximizes the success of the First Warn Storm Team.
• Create, develop, and manage weather content for KAVU-TV and Crossroads Today digital properties.
• Help coordinate First Warn Storm Team on-air and web projects. Ability to respond to breaking weather.
• Update the news staff daily on weather information; update news staff as the weather changes throughout the day.
• Be creative, flexible, and have an interest in digital and social media.
• Drive audience growth strategy through weather initiatives and publishing compelling weather content.
• Proactively seek out and publish content, generate weather story ideas, and promote Crossroads Today through social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or a related field.
• Familiarity with Google Analytics, Chartbeat, Crowd Tangle or similar.
• Ability to excel under tight deadlines.
