Role Details:
This is a fully home-based/remote function.
Responsibilities:
1- Content Development
• Comprehensive knowledge of what the Value Demonstration group and Market Access Consulting as a whole, offer to their clients
• Provide significant strategic, methodological, and conceptual approaches to projects... including complex multi-deliverable programs of work, according to Market Access Consulting best practice
• Bring expertise in Pricing Reimbursement & Market Access (PRMA), payer value communication, payer insights, access strategy and other related specialisations, with a good working knowledge of methodologies applied to such projects, including design, execution and delivery of payer value packs, global value dossiers, HTA submissions, payer toolkits, payer/ HEOR value decks, payer value stories, landscape analyses, HTA reviews, stakeholder identification, primary research, systematic literature review and similar projects
• Good understanding of the concepts of health economics, pricing and price referencing, reimbursement and market access, including reimbursement processes for key global markets (including EU5 and US)
• Lead projects described above with minimal support from seniors, taking responsibility for everyday aspects of a project/ program of work
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding and awareness of therapy areas for projects supervised/ managed
• Co-ordinate schedules and timelines for multiple staff on their team/project team, and gather input required from other teams/personnel
2- Line Management and Value Demonstration Team Management Support
• Line Management and mentoring of more junior team members
• Co-ordinate schedules and timelines for multiple staff on their team
• Play a key role in group resource planning and tracking
• Maximize productivity by ensuring spare capacity is productively used and seeking help from other teams when necessary
• Proactively identify and deal with difficult or sensitive staff situations
• Identify training needs of individuals
• Supervise team members in the context of the company's goals and interests; run effective inductions for new starters; conduct effective 1:1 catch up meetings; conduct effective appraisal meetings and gather feedback for line reports on an ongoing basis
• Ensure good use of company rewards and recognition processes
• Support Value Demonstration team senior management e.g. by actively proposing improvements, raising issues and when asked, leading cross-team discussions (e.g. relating to policy and process), and coordinating actions following discussions
3- Business Development
• Understanding of where the Value Demonstration/ Market Access Consulting work fits with the client's strategic goals
• A good understanding of how a Market Access Consulting team should present itself and its range of services, relative to competitors
• Proven ability to write and review all aspects of proposals (including resource use/ costs associated with deliverables) for a wide range of projects and make useful contributions in pitch meetings
• Be able to identify where Market Access Consulting could offer additional services to help clients reach strategic goals
• Proven ability to follow up on leads and opportunities in order to win business for Market Access Consulting
• Work as a team with business development directors in order to win business and advance the Market Access Consulting teams commercial interests
• Contribute to Consulting specific account plans, taking ownership of specific actions and follow up needs
• Support project leads in growing the value of existing client relationships when acting as senior on projects
4- Project Management:
• Manage projects independently, responsible for overall quality, direction and resource use, including those that are difficult and/ or complex
• Co-ordinate schedules and timelines for multiple projects
• Mentor and coach more junior staff within project teams
• Track project profitability and proactively flag when issues are likely to arise, this includes proactively monitoring resource use, discussing any issues with relevant colleagues internally and with clients
• Identify where additional input from colleagues would be beneficial, and proactively seek it
5- Client Contact
• Develop good working relationships with clients and be able to discuss delicate issues with clients (i.e. relating to resource use, timelines etc)
• Comprehensive understanding of client roles and overall bigger picture, taking a consultative approach to projects and client requirements
• Offer clients proactive and strategic advice, supporting them in internal discussions when required
• Act as the primary point of contact in client engagements
Requirements:
• Life science undergraduate degree from a reputable university is required. Post-graduate qualifications such as MSc/MRes or PhD are highly preferred. Strong experience/ expertise in pricing and reimbursement, general market access, payer value communication, health economics, modeling, statistics, referencing, proofing etc. is required
• Several years (usually 5 or more years) prior work experience in a similar environment within a consulting practice or a health products manufacturer, with specific experience of leading client engagements, specifically in areas that the Value Demonstration team operates (evidence evaluation, payer insights, market access strategy, payer value communications, and health economics space)
• Solid understanding of, and experience of general market access/ payer value communications, plus a good understanding of general health economic concepts and principles is essential, as is proven experience in leading projects, developing and maintaining client relationships, and involvement in business development
• Demonstrated proficiency in various software programs, including Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint and EndNote, and/ or similar software programs
• Excellent command of written and verbal English
