What you'll be doing
The NSLHD Nursing and Midwifery Workforce will be compassionate, competent, confident, contemporary, capable and committed to leading person-centred health care.
The Adolescent and Young Adult Hospice (AYAH) in Manly, will be Australia’s first dedicated service for young people with life-limiting illness. The service will be for 15 to 24-year-old patients with life-limiting illness and will offer respite care, symptom management and end of life care.
Located on the former Manly Hospital site on the North Head headland, the AYAH will provide specialised care... for families, including bereavement support and counselling. The hospice will be surrounded by national parks, bushland and environmental conservation areas, providing a natural and peaceful setting for young people, their families and our staff.
The Enrolled Nurse is an integral part of our nursing team, working under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse to support and care for our unique patient cohort, focusing on aspects of respite care, symptom control, care coordination and end of life care in a dynamic, nurturing team nursing model.
As an Enrolled Nurse you will practice and act in accordance with recognised professional and standards of practice established by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia to deliver holistic and quality nursing care.
In your role, you provide physical and psychological comfort and support to patients. Assist with patient assessment including observation and monitoring of health status. This role will require a successful candidate to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with patients, families, carers and the multi-disciplinary team regarding nursing care.
Candidates with a high level of communication, emotional empathy and dedication to caring for the community, will find this a fulfilling and rewarding position, as well as continue to provide you with ongoing development in your career. Experience in adolescent health and/or palliative care will be highly regarded.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
• Demonstrated commitment to person centred care and NSW Health Core Values.
• Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct nursing practice in a manner that respects the rights of individuals and groups in the context of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Knowledge of and ability to work within a person-centered approach to nursing with a willingness to embrace change in the delivery of care.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, organise workload and effectively manage time.
