Position Responsibilities

You've spent years honing your craft, learning about emerging tech and its application to modern business.

So, why work somewhere where you can't use that knowledge to help influence product direction?

Why not join an organisation who draw on the expertise of their teams? Who find the best solution together, as a unit?

Your new job is important. You're the person who makes sure the pub doesn't become the pub with no beer. Because, unfortunately, beer isn't free.

A Novocastrian success-story with roots dating back around 50 years, our client has grown their award-winning Point-of-Sale software into a serious competitor on the national scene.

With a growing portfolio of over 350 loyal customers, including several blue-chip clients signed this year, this organisation still isn't compromising on culture. You'll be immersed in a supportive team environment that prioritises training and development, and has the technical firepower to go toe-to-toe with... publicly-listed competitors.

Flexible working, structured training, career road-mapping, and free parking. Tick, tick, tick, and tick.

The Opportunity

Consistent, sustained customer growth means the creation of new positions.

As a Software Developer, you'll mostly work on new features and products, forging a new path with greenfield projects, and ongoing refinements dedicated to delivering a world-class customer experience.
• Work as part of a tight-knit team of software developers to continuously evolve their award-winning Point of Sale software
• Dive into an evolving .NET environment and influence the technical direction of new products
• Lead the design and development of a rich solution suite which includes POS terminals, kiosks, mobile ordering platforms and handheld devices

The Right Person

Technically proven yet hungry to learn, you'll be equally capable of working towards the big-picture vision and thinking on your feet when the need for a quick fix arises. To be successful in this dynamic role, you'll be experienced with the following tech:
• Web Development, largely using a Microsoft technology stack (C#.NET, SQL Server, Visual Studio)
• Contemporary .NET platforms, such as Blazor and Xamarin

Not a 100% match? Don't worry! We want to find someone who will dedicate themselves to growth. If you're a bit light on experience but have the work ethic to continuously strengthen your skill set, we want to hear from you.

The Company

The company you'll be joining has been around for 50 years and in that time has established deep roots in Newcastle. Family-owned, it's focused on the well-being of its over 40 employees - and in turn they tend to stick around. The team you'll be joining develops an award-winning suite of Point-of-Sale solutions, has around 15 staff and some major growth plans upcoming.

You'll be working from their Broadmeadow office. One of the other parts of the business is dedicated to office fit outs - so you'll be working in a modern office which was renovated less than 12 months ago. The company has a keen interest in giving back to the community and is heavily involved with several yearly events as well as supporting fundraisers that help raise funds for Australians affected natural disasters like floods and fires.
