DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position you will evaluate toxicological information related to environmental chemical exposures using advanced scientific knowledge in environmental toxicology to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information to the public and other stakeholders to prevent/ minimize adverse health effects. You will provide guidance and support to the division staff in the collection and analysis of data on environmental exposure and health outcome and dissemination of information pertaining to the health effects of toxicological and environmental hazards to protect public health. You will develop policies and procedures for coordinating resources during toxic environmental emergencies and assists with the conduct of follow-up epidemiological studies/ investigations to prevent/mitigate adverse health effects to the public.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
• Full-time employment.
• Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to three days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
• Three years of post-doctoral experience in the field of toxicology or pharmacology, which includes two years of consultative experience in toxicology; and a doctoral degree in toxicology or a closely related field.
Necessary Special Requirements:
• This position requires board certification in general toxicology by the American Board of Toxicology or an equivalent international certifying body within six months of hire.

Other Requirements:
• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
