Hiring Bonus: New Officers $5,000, Certified Officers $10,000. Bonuses awarded over three installments at different milestones throughout first 18 months.

Lateral Transfer Pay Available: Lateral transfer pay is available for certified officers depending upon department/city size for previously certified officers.

Incentive Pay Bonuses: Night Shift Differential Pay, Longevity Pay, Education Pay, Specialized Assignment Pay, and Certificate Pay.

New Police Building: We have a new state of the art police campus which is nearly completion. Our projected move in date is by May 2023. This building will feature an indoor shooting range and provide us with the ability to continue expanding our ranks as our city continues to grow in the future.

Promotions: Police Corporal awarded at 5 years and completion of 6 credit hours of College English (Same requirements for Intermediate Certificate). Individuals are eligible to begin the testing process for promotion to Police Sergeant at 5 years at the Fayetteville Police Department.

Pay Scale/Increases: Currently we use a 9 level step system for pay scale. Step increases are awarded yearly and based upon sales tax numbers through the city. Promotion to Corporal or Sergeant will result in a minimal of a 4% pay increase from the individual's current step level. A pay study is conducted every two years to ensure competitive pay with similar departments
