Environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities are becoming more and more relevant in today’s world, here at Macquarie we are no different. Macquarie produces a range of ESG reporting material and this team is responsible for ensuring Macquarie meets its rapidly evolving ESG data, analytical and reporting needs at both the global and subsidiary levels.

The team will be driving the development of platforms, systems and processes enabling insights and the delivery of our ESG future reporting, bringing our ESG agenda to life. Your role in the team will be supporting, designing and enhancing ESG data management, governance and analytics. Having experience in ESG, financial or regulatory data management teams, with a passion for sustainability you will have the ability to thrive in a fast paced, collaborative and innovative culture.

What impact will you have?

In the first six months you will be play a key role in uplifting our Sustainability reporting capability including evolving our sustainability reporting data management frameworks and processes to meet our future reporting obligations and commitments. You will use your data management knowledge to develop breadth and depth of expertise and demonstrate measurable value in assisting in uplifting our data management and governance frameworks that are fundamental to our reporting.

Using your knowledge of reporting and data, you will be involved in designing and automating processes around data lineage and controls, data profiling and analytics, interactive metrics and reporting impact assessments. You will be exploring and analysing the latest data management techniques and working collaboratively with our business divisions to uplift, enhance and improve ESG data governance and reporting. With the rapidly changing, dynamic and challenging nature of ESG data you will have the opportunity to work at the forefront of data management techniques to meet the significant challenge it presents.

What skills will you use?
• Strong communication skills with a proven ability explain complex analytical concepts to people from non-technical backgrounds
• High attention to detail with an ability to work with large amounts of data
• Experience and ability working in a highly numerate and analytical environment
• Be bold, seeing challenges as opportunities that can be overcome, be curious, always asking, “What’s the need and use of data end to end,” and “How can we do this better” and be generous, working collaboratively across the group
• Previous experience within a data management and analytics team, with ESG data management preferable but not essential
• Commercial experience with at least one of the following technologies will be viewed favourably: Tableau/Power BI, Alteryx/Talend and R/Python

You will be goal orientated, hard-working, people-focused individual with reporting experience and a passion for ESG. You will work within FMG and across other Macquarie groups particularly the Risk Management Group (RMG) when developing the uplifted ESG reporting data management, as well as influencing the Operating Groups to ensure effective and efficient data sharing processes to tell the Macquarie ESG story.

You will have tenacity, agility and a proven ability to sustain high levels of performance in a fast-paced, output focused environment and be a natural collaborator who can initiate and lead conversations with stakeholders regarding anticipated and emerging risks and opportunities.
