The portfolio currently consists of eight sites across the eastern seaboard of Australia, including one in Queensland, four in New South Wales and three in Victoria
About the Environmental and Sustainability Manager Role
RLX is seeking to appoint a full time Environmental and Sustainability Manager. This role will work closely with the General Manager HSE on the delivery of initiatives that improve HSSE outcomes across the RLX business.
This role is responsible for providing professional advice and support to RLX leadership and working in collaboration with Site Managers and employees on the implementation and management of environmental systems and reporting.
The... role is also responsible for the development and deployment of key sustainability initiatives to reduce the organisation’s environmental impacts, including its carbon footprint.
Tasks and Responsibilities
• Develop and regularly review RLX’s environment and sustainability policies including the Animal Welfare Standards policy.
• Analyse and investigate key issues, trends and gaps in RLX’s environment and sustainability program and develop strategies and improvement plans.
• Provide front line environmental and sustainability presence, support and technical advice to Site Managers.
• Work closely with Site Managers to ensure the execution of and compliance with all policy, procedures, legislation, regulations, codes of practice and Australian standards to ensure that the business is meeting its environmental obligations.
• Work in collaboration with Site Managers and their teams to develop and implement an annual Site Environment and Sustainability Continuous Improvement Plan.
• Actively participate in the review of site procedures, protocols and work instructions where relevant to ensure environmental risks and sustainability improvement opportunities are considered.

• Tertiary qualifications within relevant field
• Extensive experience in field
• Up-to-date knowledge of environmental and sustainability landscape and trends
• Results and goal oriented with ability to demonstrate excellent judgement, solution orientation and appropriate level of risk taking
• Understanding of the Agricultural/Livestock sector and experience with relevant environmental and sustainability and networks will be highly regarded.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain productive and cohesive relationships with internal stakeholders.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to operate with minimal guidance, be proactive and handle uncertainty.
• Self-starter, with a high level of resilience, strong initiative, quality service mindset and a continuous improvement focus; results driven with an ability to overcome barriers, find solutions to problems and get things done.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – ability to use mature business judgement in making decisions; effective in balancing the short- and long-term considerations and taking decisive action.

• Strong computer literacy and use of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
