About the role… We have an exciting opportunity for a Waste and Recycling Operations Supervisor to join our team in Gloucester. You will be responsible for reporting to the Operations Manager, you will oversee the day to day activities of the operational workforce, covering all aspects of waste management, street cleansing, grounds maintenance, health and safety, compliance and routine admin duties. The main duties include: Perform daily site checks to ensure safety of members of staff, contractors, and visitors Ensure the correct PPE is always worn by yourself and all other site operatives including any additional PPE required for dealing with specific waste streams As a people manager you will support your direct reports, supervise the day to day operations, authorise leave requests, issue
PPE, monitor progress, undertake investigations, act as a mentor, demonstrate best practice, lead by example Operate fixed and mobile plant and equipment safely and competently following appropriate training and authorisation To assist with the General Site Operations as needed, ensuring Compliance with all regulatory legislation, company Policies and practices while aiding and assisting the Contract Supervisor or the Operations Manager Record keeping, undertaking of stock takes, quality control, and the completion of crew checks/inspections/audits supported using digital systems Monitor crew performance on daily rounds Undertake end of shift crew debriefs To assist with the provision of training, including toolbox talks and briefings You will need… Current valid Driver's Licence Either hold, or willing to work towards a class 2 drivers’ licence Experience in team leadership Experience of operational planning and problem solving For further information please download the job description and person specification.
