Schools Counsellor –part-time

Location: Oakmoor School, Bordon

FTE Salary: £34,761 FTE - £18.07/hour. Subject to annual pay review.

Part-time: 5 hours a week – Wednesdays during school hours

Fixed term contract

Hart Voluntary Action is looking for a qualified Counsellor who has a qualification, or is working towards a qualification, in Counselling Adolescents to be a part of our Schools Counselling team delivering Counselling in local schools.

The successful applicant will be expected to work in school one day a week on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday (to be decided by the successful candidate) during term time providing individual Counselling to students who have been referred to Counselling by the school.

The key tasks of this post are:

· To carry out initial assessments of young people.

· To carry out up to 6 sessions of counselling with each Young Person

· To keep appropriate client notes and statistics... required by HVA.

· To inform the Counselling Services Manager of any referrals required and provide the necessary information for those referrals or correspondence with other professionals when required, including GP’s, the school and CAMHS.

· To provide counselling sessions during term time (12-week terms) at the hours agreed between the Counsellor, HVA and the school.

· To attend and contribute at the monthly clinical group supervision sessions. This is a condition of employment with HVA
