Job Title: Music Therapy Instructor Based at: San Diego, CA 92134 Job Summary: Sanford Federal, Inc. is currently seeking a Music Therapy Instructor to work in San Diego, CA . to teach therapeutic music modalities and perform his duties in such an effective manner. Duties: - Instructor shall provide individual music lessons/therapy with musical instruments - Instructor shall teach therapeutic music modalities to able-bodied personnel and those individuals with physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities. - will conduct the music therapy clinic in conjunction with the NMCSD Program Staff. - will assist in putting back all equipment used during the clinic and proper storage of equipment used. Requirements: - Instructor shall hold current First Aid and CPR certifications. - Instructor must be a music therapist certified by the national board certification exam and have the credential of Music Therapist- Board Certified (MT-BC). - Instructor must have the ability to teach the following topics: increase auditory awareness, music as a catalyst for relaxation, music as a medium for non-verbal expression, while ensuring overall patient safety. - The ability to instruct varying abilities from patients who have never been exposed to musical therapy to patients who are professional musicians. - The ability to communicate orally and in writing. - Have an extensive knowledge base of various physical impairments and precautions associated with those disabilities including open wounds related to recent amputations, skin break down, prosthetic use and overall general daily functioning associated with disabilities. - Interpersonal dynamics and specialized experience is a must teaching members with PTSD, TBIs’ and amputations on how to adapt to various musical therapy modalities in order to meet their individual needs and rehabilitation goals. - Covid-19 vaccination You can take pride in working for a company dedicated to serving our government by providing the best, most cost-effective solutions for the US Government.
