They are due to start a roadwork & site development project Co. Cork and require an experienced Health & safety officer to join their team on a full time permanent basis. Job Details:
• Ensure H&S management systems are implemented and maintained across the site.
• Managing the administration for the Health & Safety induction & training plans for all site... personnel.
• Regularly review and assisting the update Company Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures and Safety Statement.
• Manage training & compliance files for all colleagues & sub-contractors
• Ensure that staff have all the relevant manuals and training certifications
• Review sub-contractors’ Safety Statements and Safety Compliance.
• Promote a continuous improvement culture in relation to all health, safety and environmental work practices on the site.
• Conduct site audits, safety inspections.
• Generate Tool Box Talks
• Investigate/report accidents and incidents on-site ensuring relevant accident information for insurance purposes
• Plan and implement OHS policies and programs
• Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics
• Review existing policies and procedures
• Adhere to all the rules and regulations
• Work with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety
• Conduct risk assessments
• Check if all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations
• Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could harm employees’ safety
• Implement the company’s health, safety, quality and environmental policy, procedures and management systems.
• Advising & assisting site management in drafting and communicating Method Statements, Safe Plans of Action and Tool Box Talks.
• Provide advice, guidance and instruction in all health & safety matters to management, safety representatives and employees (including sub-contractors where appropriate).
• Conduct regular inspections and site audits, reporting findings to site and senior company management. Strict follow-up is required to ensure that actions are dealt with immediately.
• Ensure that all accidents are reported, recorded and investigated and that suitable notification is given to the Directors, Health & Safety Authority and Insurers as required.
• Compiling relevant information for inclusion for handover to the Client at the end of the project.

Requirements:
• Hold a relevant Qualification
• Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience on building projects in Ireland or the UK
• Will have previous experience working on construction sites
• Hold a full, clean Driving license
• Excellent IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office including strong excel skills
• Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills
