Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
The Department of Ecology, Evolution and Organismal Biology (EEOB) is seeking to support a strong population of students majoring in Biology and Environmental Science. EEOB serves over 2,000 undergraduate majors earning the Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, and over 100 majors in Environmental Science. Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, full-time, non-tenure track, Limited Term Instructor of Ecology and Environmental Science faculty position in the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology that begins August 2023.
Responsibilities include the following, at a minimum:
Successful candidates will be expected to establish an inclusive teaching environment where students from diverse backgrounds can be successful and feel like they belong. The main responsibility of this position is teaching at the undergraduate level with an emphasis on active, inclusive, and experiential learning. The primary teaching responsibilities will be for the Ecology classes (ecology lecture and labs; BIOL 3370 and BIOL 3370L). Other teaching responsibilities may include Environmental Science courses for non-majors, including Science, Society, and the Environment I and II (SCI 1101 and 1102), and or an introductory biology class (Principles of Modern Biology II (BIOL 1108 and BIOL 1108L).
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
• A Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a discipline related to Biology or a closely related discipline is required.
• A Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in Biology, Ecology, or Environmental Science is required.
• Demonstrated success using evidence-based, inclusive teaching practices at the university level.
• A record of teaching ecology, environmental science, general biology, or related courses. Evidence of teaching and working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community Willingness to teach in face-to-face, on-line or hybrid modalities Record of past teaching at the undergraduate level.
