Smithville Christian High School, Smithville, Ontario
• Full Time - one year contract, with potential for permanent employment
• Commencing August 2023

Smithville Christian High School is seeking an administrator for the 2023/2024 school year with the potential for this position to become permanent.

Smithville Christian High School is an independent Christian school in the heart of Niagara Region. Offering excellent, Christ-centered education to students in Grades 9 to 12, our core purpose is to train students to live as responsible disciples of Jesus Christ. We accomplish this purpose by shaping our instruction and relationships around our core values: Belong, Believe, Succeed.

• Is a servant leader that believes and demonstrates a Christian... worldview of creation, fall, redemption, restoration in interactions with staff, students, and families
• Actively supports the school's mission, vision and values and board policies
• Encourages a school environment that is a warm, safe and inviting place
• Displays excellent communication skills in written and verbal form
• Supervises and mentors staff, encouraging them in positive and respectful relationships, inspiring quality pedagogy, and engaging them in meaningful and relevant professional development
• Advises and assists the board and makes sound recommendations to them
• Shows financial understanding in managing staffing within an approved operations budget, as well as propose capital budgets while planning for facility maintenance and enhancements
• Relationship builder both within the school with students, staff and parents and outside the school, including the supporting churches and partner schools and supporting agencies
• Visionary leader with a big picture perspective that reflects the mission of Christian education and its stakeholders and a willingness to work with them to develop short, medium and long range strategic plans
• Commits to grow the school in course offerings and enrollment
• Articulates a vision for 21st century Christian education and is able to develop and maintain programming and curriculum that fosters relevant skills for various post secondary paths
• Exhibits a collaborative leadership style with the ability to work with the expertise of others encouraging the efficient and effective operation of the school
• Keeps informed about current educational trends
Experience and Educational Requirements
• Bachelor's degree and a teaching degree
• Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) qualifications and a member in good standing
• Ontario Principal's Qualifications and/or The Christian School Principals Certification or its equivalent or is working toward
• Master's degree or working toward obtaining a Master's degree
• Has teaching/classroom experience

• Smithville Christian High School offers a competitive salary that corresponds with the Edvance-Vocate Compensation Grid
