Psychology at NWMH

We are a diverse and well-connected group of psychologists, offering many opportunities across different programs and services. Psychologists at NWMH currently work in Perinatal Emotional and Mental Health Services, HOPE (Hospital Outreach Post-suicidal Engagement) programs, Community Teams, Prevention and Recovery Services (Youth, Women’s, and Adults), Orygen Youth Health and in a variety of other roles.

We are renowned for our training, research, and delivery of individual and group psychological treatments, which includes Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) for psychosis and staff well-being... General Psychiatric Management (GPM) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) for trauma and personality disorders, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E) for eating disorders, Schema Therapy, and other treatments.

We are keen to engage psychologists who are interested in shaping the next generation of mental health clinicians through leadership and clinical supervision.

About You
• Formal qualifications (Masters level or higher) in psychology
• Endorsement (or specialized and eligible for endorsement) in one of the following areas (Clinical, Forensic, Neuropsychology, Health, or Development / Educational)
• 5+ years experience working as a registered psychologist
• General registration with AHPRA (or eligible for general registration)
• Board-approved supervisor (or working towards)
• Expertise in providing supervision, mentorship, leadership and / or education
• Experience working in public health services will be highly regarded
