Safiya is looking for a creative and disciplined Assistant Editor role will have a wide range of responsibilities within the post-production pipeline such as working with various team members to find and assemble editorial clips and audio, enabling creatives to do their best work and ensuring that all deliveries are 'to spec' in every detail. This requires a growing knowledge of and passion for post, combined with strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced creative driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Experience with Premiere, After Effects and Adobe Creative Cloud
• Support the Post-Production Manager in establishing post-production workflows and in logging metadata, cataloging raw footage, data and file management, transcoding of proxies, rendering media.
• Prep footage for editorial, and graphics teams - learning SAFTY system
• Managing incoming source materials and their organization on the server or FrameIO
• Gather, organize, and check all assets for accuracy and functionality
• Initial project setup and organization for editors
• Day-to-day management of editorial server and its contents
• Perform QC checks on delivery of finished assets conforming to company standards
• Create multiple versions of assets for delivery as directed by an editor or producer
• Versioning for broadcast, web, social media, creating final deliverables and content for delivery
• Potentially assisting in editing projects
• Embed captioning and prepare other Accessibility files
• Clean up and organize project before archiving
• Work closely with creative and post production teams to craft visually compelling creative stories under tight deadlines
• Understanding of storytelling style as related to timing and pacing
• Handling GFX tweaks and minor adjustments via both After Effects and Premiere
• GFX creation, export and application using both After Effects and Premiere

Key Accountabilities:
• Creating support documentation
• Downloading media
• Digitizing and ingesting all requested media
• Maintaining proper formats, frame rates and project organization
• Building videos assemblies from raw footage upon request
• Assisting Editors raw pulls and various other requests
• Creating string outs and shot requests upon request
• Syncing and Overcutting
• Posting cuts for Creators and Producers
• Prepping for finishing and outputting AAFs, EDLs, XMLs and References
• Maintaining clean and organized projects throughout the editorial process
• Prepping projects for archiving and backup
• Responding to the creative requests of producers such as music searches, stock footage searches, dialogue cobbling, visual breakdowns, rough feature assemblies, etc.
• Handling GFX adjustments, tweaks or creations when requested

• No personal TikTok / IG / or YouTube posting during working hours
• Prompt responses to slacks, emails, texts, and phone calls
