Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:45 pm

Job Summary: The Editorial Assistant performs a variety of editorial, research and support duties to coordinate publication of materials in scholarly works, professional journals or department/school/University publications.

Additional Department Summary: Assists numerous departments with various tasks, with an emphasis in the area of manuscript acquisitions. Assists editor-in-chief with acquisitions tasks, performs database input, and manages the scheduling and communications for faculty editorial board meetings. Occasionally acquires projects under the supervision of the editor-in-chief. Manages office tasks to purchasing/accounting, drafting contracts and routing them for signature, creating and maintaining book files, preparing correspondence, answering phones, and mailing/shipping.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and some experience.

Skills and Knowledge: Excellent organizational skills; keen attention to detail; professional demeanor; ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines; excellent oral and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel); knowledge of and experience with database management.

Preferred Qualifications: At least one year of publishing experience. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (particularly Photoshop and Illustrator).
