As an Operations Research Scientist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing mathematical models and algorithms to optimize our delivery operations and improve our efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and stakeholders, to identify and solve complex business problems through data-driven approaches.

In this position you will:

- Develop and implement mathematical models and algorithms to optimize delivery routes, schedules or any problem related to operations research.
- Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to implement and deploy solutions in production

- Identify and prioritize opportunities for operational improvements through data-driven analysis

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex business problems

- Work with other Operations Research Scientists on best practices, new trends, new challenges and opportunities

- Define and implement... success metrics in close collaboration with product owners, Data Engineers, Business Analysts and other relevant stakeholders

Communicate those insights to peers and stakeholders, both verbally and visually

Requirements

- Advanced degree in a quantitative field, such as Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering

- Experience with optimization techniques, from building mathematical models, to metaheuristics, and a mixture of those

- Experience with programming languages such as Java (ideally), Python, etc.

- Software development best practices (testing, git, code reviews, etc.)

- Ability to think creatively, you will deal with challenging problems that will require thinking outside the box

- Self-starter with a drive to learn new skills and getting things done

- Hands-on approach to testing hypotheses with data, scientific and solution-oriented thinking, ability to critically question analyses, approaches, and assumptions, especially your own

- Pragmatic approach preferring simple and effective solutions over shiny / complex solutions

- Experience working in an agile environment and effectively collaborating within diverse teams and outside of your team
