Job Description

Kline & Company is currently seeking full-time Analysts for the Energy practice within the Global Market Research business. Analysts will be expected to conduct primary interviews with selected industry sources, analyze and interpret the findings and write syndicated reports, and provide support to project team members.

This position is currently home-office/remote-based but will eventually be based in Kline’s Prague office in the Czech Republic.

Preferred candidates for this position will have experience in any of the following sectors: Lubricant, basestocks, additives, and sustainability-related topics such as renewable energy and electric mobility. Experience in benchmarking, competitive intelligence, and market and business research is strongly preferred. Candidates with prior experience in primary research will be preferred.

Job Requirements:
• Graduate degree, preferably in petroleum & refining, mechanical engineering, instrumentation engineering, automobile... engineering, or chemical engineering
• Work eligibility in the European Union (EU)
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• One to three years of professional experience, preferably in market research, marketing, business intelligence, and/or competitive intelligence
• Industry experience in the Energy or Chemicals industry
• Fluent oral and written English language skills mandatory; a second language including German, Spanish, or French also required
• Czech language skills not required
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a multinational team under tight deadlines
• Open and proactive communication with team, and ability to coach junior members of the team
• Strong comfort level working with data and making insightful comments surrounding numbers
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong interviewing (both telephonic and face-to-face), primary and secondary research, analytical, communication (written and verbal English proficiency), and presentation skills
• Ability to interpretate insights from primary research, and document them in concise written interview reports
• Ability to identify and develop the right set of respondents for conducting primary research through a range of sources
• Ability to monitor significant industry trend through secondary sources
