We are currently dealing with a leading Engineering consultancy who are looking at recruiting a Principal Rail Civil Structural Design Engineer in there London office to undertake Team Management duties, acting as Lead Engineer through project life cycles, from tender production to scheme and detailed design.
• Lead and manage the team, which currently comprises a mix of Engineers and Technicians at all levels, and be responsible for their delivery of rail infrastructure design packages and leading multi-disciplinary rail design projects
• You will be responsible for the production of design packages for concept, tender and detailed phases of projects.
• Undertake CRE duties where applicable
• Key deliverables will include budget setting and management, compliance with agreed internal and external processes and systems, workload and resource management,

Job Requirements
•... Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional body eg ICE or IStructE.
• Experience of managing and developing a team
• Strong technical background with proven experience in the design of some of the following: rail structures and buildings; rail stations including platforms – upgrade and extension; retaining structures; foundations; over, under and footbridges; culverts and crossings and earth structures.
• Ideally experience acting as a CRE, or Lead Engineer within a Rail Civil Structure environment.
