The Marketing Director is a highly-analytical self-starter who takes a data-driven approach in exploring opportunities and maximizing revenue across a broad spectrum of services to external partners. The primary objective of this role is to seek out new opportunities (products or services) and build partnerships to drive revenue across products. The Director must have the ability to evaluate new opportunities, develop products, build revenue models and follow through on implementation and delivery of solutions.
Main Responsibilities:
• Develop strategy for Data Innovations team from exploration of new capabilities to product development and monetization of data on hand
• Build a deep understanding of the market and leverage that knowledge to uncover new business opportunities
• Responsible for managing different product lines, increasing profitability of existing product lines and creating new products based on market evolution and customer demands
• Identify new product ideas and... design the product roadmap based on market direction and customer needs;
• Identify and execute on strategic product investments
• Be a thought-leader for new industry trends and data-related market opportunities
• Oversee and provide guidance in research and development efforts
• Oversee and guide the product teams in developing products/services and in creating models to size opportunities and determine optimal business decisions
• Monitor product development and work closely with product managers, engineering and client facing teams to ensure product development is on track and final outcome addresses customer needs
• Oversee development of business cases for new services/product developed
• Mentor product managers and work with them to design and execute on the go to market strategy;
• Provide product and marketplace expertise to support prospective sales by addressing prospect needs around product capabilities, customization requests, and use cases;
• Work closely with product managers, business development and marketing to create collateral that accurately represents the value of new products and product extensions
• Accountable for the revenue targets of the group
• Be the champion in EDO for innovative ways of monetizing data
Requirements
• Master of Business Administration plus a Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely-related subject.
• 12+ years of professional experience with 8+ years of consumer facing product development and management experience
• Firm Marketing / Brand Management Experience including but not limited to understanding brand and marketing objectives, tactics and KPIs
• Solid Market Understanding & Business Strategy
• Knowledge or experience in the agency (buy side) space and clear understanding of intricacies of digital advertising and monetization
• Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions
• Think like an owner, focus on long term results and strategies
• Very strong communications and persuasion skills, including the ability to convincingly convey complex technical concepts to non-technical managers;
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience working on developing new applications or services
• Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver products and projects on tight deadlines
• Experience coordinating complex product development cycles and software development schedules
• Broad technical breadth and depth including familiarity with mobile technology, web services and back-end application infrastructure
• Passion for creating innovative solutions for consumers in households and businesses
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives
• Experience with developer evangelism
• High attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to think strategically and execute methodically
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired
• History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
