Postdoc in neural development & stem cell biology

full-time (40 hrs/week) or part-time, starting as early as April 2023, initially for two years with the possibility for extension.

Your role

Utilizing human pluripotent stem cells (embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cells) as the main model system, you will elucidate mechanisms of cell-cell communication that govern growth and differentiation in... the context of neural development. Specifically, you will focus on the role of surface molecule-mediated cell interactions in the regulation of downstream signaling cascades and in vitro models of neural disease. The successful applicant will have a proven aptitude to work efficiently independently but also cooperatively in an international team while contributing to joint projects and collaborations.

Your profile

We are looking for motivated team players with a strong interest in developmental biology, cell biology and/or regenerative medicine. Applicants should hold a doctorate in biology, biochemistry or a related subject. Candidates must have strong expertise and publication record in molecular biology, cell biology/biochemistry as well as good knowledge of English. Prior experience with stem cell culture, organoids and/or computational biology is beneficial but not required. Preference will be given to experienced researchers who have a clear passion for science as well as for sharing their expertise with more junior scientists including doctoral, master's and medical students.
