The Opportunity:

The City of Armadale is seeking a suitably experienced and motivatedSenior Environmental Health Officer to join the Health Services team. This role provides expert advice, support and assistance to Environmental Health Officers to achieve the delivery of a quality environmental and public health service.

As a Senior Environmental Health Officer your day to day duties include but not limited to:
• Processing health applications including food premises, public buildings, public events.
• Assessing incoming Environmental Health tasks within a geographical area and... distributing to Environmental Health Officers for action.
• Providing expert advice, information and interpretation of legislation, where relevant, to industry, developers, government agencies and the general public.
• Providing advice, assistance and mentorship to less experienced officers.

The successful applicant must have:
• Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent qualifications acceptable for appointment as an Environmental Health Officer.
• High level of knowledge and understanding of the principles and practice of Environmental Health.
• High level of verbal communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to all sections of the community.
• Developed conflict resolution skills.
• Developed problem solving and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability of working well in a team environment.
• Substantial experience as an Environmental Health Officer.
• Appointment as Authorised Person and Inspector (Noise) under the Environmental Protection Act or eligibility for such appointment.
• Possession of Current C Class Drivers Licence.
• Possession of or ability to obtain a current National Police Certificate.
