We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our friendly Housing Options team at Lichfield District Council in the post of Assistant Housing Allocations & Systems Officer on a Fixed Term Contract for two years. This post helps manage the councils housing register and choice based lettings system

The post holder will provide a professional, customer focused housing advice service on the housing allocations scheme, nominations and choice based lettings. The post holder will also assist in the administration of the housing register including the maintenance of records, advertising and shortlisting for properties and liaison with partners and Registered Providers. Collection of performance information, and the completion of reports and statistical returns will also be a key part of the role.

The post holder will need experience of providing an effective advice service to members of the public, with experience of carrying out interviews, investigations, negotiations. You will also need previous experience of analysing statistical information.

The post holder will need the ability to communicate and work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and circumstances, be able to prioritise their own workload and achieve targets and deadlines. Demonstrating a positive team approach and a commitment to the Council's values to improve & innovate, put customers first and have respect for everyone is also essential.
