The urgency of improvingelectoral rules, II. the crisis of political representation, and III.the need for truthful and impartial information, especially duringelectoral processes.The "Consolidation of Peruvian democracy"project will be implemented through the following three mainoutcomes:Electoral policymakers and electoral management bodiessupport practices that foster electoral integrity, inclusion, andaccountability in electoral processes, in line with therecommendations of the EU electoral observationmissions.Underrepresented groups, especially women and youth,increase their political participation.Better-informed citizens onelectoral politics value democracy and plurality.The CommunicationsOfficer will work on implementing and monitoring the projectvisibility plan and will contribute to all public informationactivities of the programme including the dissemination of relevantinformation through the media and social media channels. TheCommunications Officer will handle writing, editing and targetingdissemination to promote the project's events and results.Duties andResponsibilitiesImplements all communications activities for theproject, ensuring that the project has an effective communicationstrategy according to the donor’s Communications and visibility Plan.Provides support in communication activities to culturalpartners;Assists with the development of scripts of videos andaudiovisual products and other relevant messages;Provides regularcommunications updates to all partners to ensure they arewell-informed about planned activities and upcoming events.Ensuresthe implementation of an effective social media strategy for allsocial media channels (Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook), in accordancewith International IDEA and donor guidelines.Writes and edits webarticles, tweets, social media posts, press releases and otheroutreach content.Monitors and reports on impact andanalytics.Supports the facilitation of training sessions forjournalists and other relevant communicationprofessionals.Participates in and contributes to meetings andworkshops with internal and external stakeholders.Creates clearinfographics and digital assets for use online and inpresentations.Undertakes regular media monitoring, contributes toand regularly updates the project’s press lists, contributes to Op-Edsand stories for media placement and assists in responding tomedia/press inquiries as required.Creates clear infographics anddigital assets for use online and in presentations.Builds a databaseof local and international media and identifies opportunities formedia coverage.Assists country team to develop materials and methodsfor improving internal communication e.g., internal newsletter,programme updates, and encouraging the use of Yammer, Metashare andother platforms used by the institute to disseminate informationinternally.General ProfileRequires good knowledge, excellentskills, and experience in the field of communication and media.Addsvalue to team-based activities in his/her unit; collaborates withother entities of the Institute as required.Follows internalprocedures to ensure high standards of performance and compliance withInstitutional guidelines.Acts in accordance with InternationalIDEA’s Core Values: Respect, Integrity, andProfessionalism.Integrates a gender and diversity perspective in allactivities.Reporting lineHead of the Programme - PeruEducationand ExperienceUniversity degree in communications, journalism,international relations, or a related subject.Minimum of three (3)years professional experience in a similar role or as a journalist orwriter in communications for development, with a focus on socialmedia.Experience using graphic design tools and ability to use allAdobe tools.Experience working on democracy-promoting projects isconsidered an advantage.Demonstrated ability to create and maintainsocial media campaigns.Experience with EU-funded projects andrequirements, as well as familiarity with their processes and systems,is considered an advantage.Experience working in an internationalcontext, e.g., in an intergovernmental organization, is considered anadvantage.Fluency in written and oral Spanish is required; Goodknowledge of written and oral English is required.
