Based in our Hindmarsh head office, the Financial Accountant will undertake comprehensive and practical ownership for the end-to-end accounting... lifecycle. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will provide indirect leadership and mentoring to the Accounts function including Accounts Payable, Receivable and Cash Management functions, while supporting and collaborating with the senior finance team and other key stakeholders to ensure quality and control over financial functions.
Responsibilities also include;
• Leading and contributing to annual and interim Financial Audit with support from team and audit partners
• Providing oversight and compliance for company tax obligations
• Performing relevant monthly and annual reconciliations to contribute to end of month reporting
• Providing lease reporting under AASB16
• Managing appropriate record keeping and reporting for Joint Venture
• Maintaining Credit Card processes, reconciliations, and compliance obligations
• Overseeing the management of Fixed Assets accounts, including acquisition, disposal, and audit
• Preparing end of month journals for relevant Investment accounts
• Work with the Finance Manager to support the Accounts Payable, Receivable and Cash management team in managing KPI’s and outputs
• Leading monthly financial accounts and contribution to month-end closure
• Developing and monitoring of relevant group finance policy
Skills and Experiences:
With 4+ years experience in a senior finance position, you will have proven leadership skills coupled with a passion for delivering detailed and complex accounting, across the full accounting lifecycle.
You will also have:
• Demonstrated ability to act as the key accounting expert within the business, providing clear and easy to understand accounting advice
• A tertiary qualification in commerce, finance or accounting, together with a full membership of a professional accounting body such as CPA, CA or CIMA.
• Advanced Excel skills
• Intermediate knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Business Central)
• Familiarity in Not-for-profit sector (desirable)
• Experience in federal and state funding programs (desirable)
• Evidence of approved ATAGI COVID Vaccinations, or a valid exemption. as required from the relevant government health authority
• A current National Criminal History Record Check (Police Clearance)
• A current Working with Children Check
