About the role:

Enterprise Data Science is a team of passionate, creative, and diverse data scientists and engineers that shape the data and analytics landscape at the NAB. We work to lay the foundation for a data driven culture across the enterprise by working closely with our business partners to design, build and guide data applications and enterprise capabilities.

Day to Day Responsibilities will... include:
• Research and development of new capabilities, enabling analytics practitioners to utilize first class techniques and practices, enabling organizational safety with a focus on ethical outcomes
• Applying data science and data engineering solutions to real-world business problems across the bank
• Fostering an environment & culture that strives to be world class, embraces challenges and is always looking to innovate
• Supporting the development and delivery of data engineering and machine learning solutions for our business stakeholders
• Supporting the development and delivery of an automated data science best practice process for all analytics practitioners
• Working as part of a multi-disciplinary squads to support, implement and guide the analytical vision
• Contributing to the growth of a world-class data science / data engineering offering
• Working with data scientists and analysts to help refine data consumption and transformation processes
• Supporting the operational activities of the Enterprise Data Science team.
• Research new tools, techniques and best practices and utilizing that knowledge to constantly improve our engineering, ways of working and tooling
• Engaging in knowledge sharing and contribute to the growth and success of the team
• Developing automated data science and engineering process that enables organizational efficiency and can be used by analytics practitioners
• Ability to work with data scientists and analysts to improve data transformation processes and modelling implementations
• Developing advanced analytical solutions in a business environment
• Presenting insights and new learnings to peers and stakeholders

What you will bring:
• Strong experience in developing ETL processes using SQL and Python
• Some familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS (preferred), GCP or Azure
• Cloud database technologies, such as Redshift and Snowflake
• Data warehousing experience
• Strong knowledge with version control tools (Git / Github)
• Good to have knowledge of Scala, or a familiarity with using Big Data technologies such as Spark, Hive, and MapReduce
• Comfortable with interacting and transforming structured and unstructured data
• You're comfortable developing code to transform data using languages and tooling such as SQL, Python, Pandas
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar industry experience
