Health and Safety Officer
Dunnes Stores is Ireland’s leading retailer positioned at the cutting edge of food and fashion retailing. We are Irish owned and operate over 130 stores across Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Spain, as well as a growing online store. We are expanding our service and product offering for our customers all the time. As a health and safety officer working within Dunnes Stores, you will report to the Head of Health and Safety and will be required to assist in the delivery of safety training, safety procedures and risk management across the Republic of Ireland stores.
In your Health and Safety officer role, you will be required to deliver competent online and in person manual handling practical training, fire warden practical training and general fire, health and safety training modules. You will also be required to assist store managers in correctly maintaining safety procedures, reviewing risk assessments and carrying... out store inspections/audits while implementing corrective measures as defined by the Head of Health and Safety.
Job Responsibilities:
Deliver Health & Safety training programmes both in Store and online for employees at induction and on a continued basis. Stay up to date with Health & Safety guidance and legislation Promote a continuous improvement culture in relation to all health & safety work practices across the business. Conduct regular Store audits/ inspections to ensure safety-operating procedures are adhered to at all times including vendor health and safety procedures. Assist Store Managers in the completion and review of risk assessments Ensure safety statements and required risk assessments are available and understood in stores. Be capable of reviewing safety data from store inspections to assist with the implementation of suitable action planning to reduce risk
Requirements:
Qualification as a manual handling instructor QQI level 6. Third level education in health & safety or related discipline is required. 3 - 5 years' experience in Health and Safety role. Experienced in carrying out risk assessments. Ability to deliver training modules to all levels of the organisation. Highly motivated with good attention to professional H&S standards. Possess strong IT and communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment and can engage, motivate and work with people. Must have fluent English and be eligible to work in Ireland
