We’re looking to recruit a High School Chemistry Teacher to join Colegio Menor, a Nord Anglia Education school.

THE SCHOOL

Colegio Menor is a private, bilingual (English/Spanish) school, founded in 1995. It began with its original campus in the city of Quito-Ecuador and expanded to include the Samborondón Campus which first opened its doors in 2013. Goodness, Truth, and Beauty are the core values which inspired the founders to create a renaissance school that would reflect the best international and American education models, while also instilling understanding, respect, and appreciation for diversity in Ecuadorian culture.

Colegio Menor is approved and recognized by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Education and accredited by AdvancED. Colegio Menor’s graduates are accepted to prestigious universities in Ecuador and around the world.

THE ROLE

ABOUT YOU

You will be able to adapt quickly to our fast-paced international environment, you will possess a university degree, a recognised teaching qualification, and teaching experience. Committed and creative, you will be reflective on your own teaching and student outcomes, seeking out and implementing new ideas and innovative methods to raise the school’s level of achievement.

Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fitting ambassador for the school. You will communicate with confidence across diverse audiences and situations, using your expertise to build strong relationships with parents and students. • BOTH background checks need to be apostilled, otherwise they are not valid.
• If you have lived abroad for 5 years, you will need to present the background check from the last place you lived PLUS your state and federal background check (US). This document will need to be apostilled as well.

Please remember that it has to be from the State Department, not from private agencies. To obtain an apostilled document, you must go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in your country and get the background check stamped (apostilled).

Job Requirements / Key Selection Criteria:
• University degree – BS or BA in the subject area
• MA in Education (Desired).
• 2 years of experience in a similar role (Desired)
• Strong tech skills
• Native or near-native English language abilities (Required).

OUR GLOBAL ACADEMIC RESULTS

The 2020-2021 school year was the strongest ever in terms of Nord Anglia Education’s academic results. For the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, our students achieved a 36.2 global point average and a 98% pass rate, with over 20 students earning a perfect score of 45. In the A-levels, our students achieved 65.4% of grades at A*-A, along with 83.7% at A*-B, with a group-wide pass rate of 99.4% and seven schools achieving a perfect 100% pass rate. In this year’s I/GCSE results, 59.6% of students achieved A*-A grades, with a group-wide pass rate of 89.5% and 13 Nord Anglia schools achieving a perfect 100% pass rate
